Looking to turn your home into a work of art? Russ O’Connor is a former art director and interior designer whose love of color and fine design informs all his work for his many customers.
“I get a great deal of pleasure out of using my creativity on behalf of my customers,” says Russ. “I love the collaboration and finding just the right fabric to pull a room together, maybe in a way that a customer had never considered before. I like to add value to the relationship that way.”
Russ advises customers to come in with as much information as possible – window measurements, wall colors, other fabrics already in the room – so their first trip in will be a fruitful one, dedicated to pulling together lots of ideas and concepts.
“Some people come in for drapes and say they have a ‘standard sized window’, but there really is no such thing,” he explains. “By coming in with all the details of your project, you’ll save both time and money.”
Russ loves the variety of projects he works on at Osgood’s. He’s done just about everything – from helping set designers for the Stockbridge Theatre find the perfect silk for a Shakespeare play to assisting a local funeral home with curtain fabric for their hearse.
“Osgood’s is such an institution in this area; you just never know who’s going to walk through the door. And I love that about my job.”
If you’re looking for a special creative touch for your next decorating project, come into Osgood’s and ask for Russ.
